This mostly overlooked action score is overflowing with some excellent music. A nice, memorable and suitably heroic theme for the Phantom weaves its way through the score. Big, clean sound courtesy the London Metropolitan Orchestra. This might be David Newman's most wholly satisfying work for a high profile movie, and although comparisons to Raiders of the Lost Ark might be appropriate for the movie, they aren't appropriate for the score. A satisfying listen. Recommended. | |
