I'm not a HUGE fan of Philip Glass, but I do enjoy a lot of his material. I bought this as soon as it came out and was initially VERY disappointed. Compared to his "Secret Agent" which I loved instantly, this one felt destined for the back of the shelf. Fortunately, repeated praise for the score (including the Academy Award nomination) made me listen to it several more times. I grew to like it, and finally seeing the film (which I thought was excellent) helped quite a bit. It's still not one of my top favorites (even of Glass' works) but I do think it's very good indeed. Recommended.
