What happens when you have an overwhelming, all-encompassing love of Doctor Who - so much that it makes you use similar terms like
"overwhelming" and "all-encompassing" in the same sentence? Well, if you're like Scott Wilsen and his best friend Wilsen Scott, every living
experience is seen through Doctor Who tinted glasses. Everything they see, do and hear is somehow related to their obsession. For example, a package delivery man looks exactly like Tom Baker; their doorbell sounds like the Doctor Who signature tune; every stranger they see on the street looks like a companion. Pretty sick, if you ask us. But that's whatcha get. So, anyway, Scott and Wilsen cut school to stay home and watch television. Unfortunately, Doctor Who isn't on at the mo, so they flip channels for a bit. Perhaps not surprisingly, every show they watch has also been tainted with Whoness, including I Love Lucy (where Lucy looks and acts just like Mel, and Ricky like the seventh Doctor, and Fred and Ethel much like the sixth Doctor and Peri); Gilligan's Island with the amazingly fifth-Doctor-era-esque castaways stuck on a Sarn-like planet. We also get an unsettling JN-T in the place of Fred Rogers in Mr Rogers' Neighborhood and a nice voice-over from the Star Hustler at the end explaining just what really happened. Even the commercials that Scott and Wilsen see are no exception, with the Bartles and Jaymes spokesmen looking just like the first two Docs. Who on TV appears on Video'Zine #9. 33 minutes, color, mono
