The film score equivalent of a slice of angel food cake. Light and delicate, sparse instrumentation. Herrmann's first collaboration with Alfred Hitchcock is interesting from a historical perspective, when taking into account later works such as Psycho and Vertigo, but even though the score is GOOD and makes a pleasant listen, it's ultimately too lightweight for all but the more devout Herrmannophiles. | |
