The "Main Title" is short and blends nicely with "The Promise" which is even shorter. "Main Title" showcases a little Russian-style choir reminiscent of the more familiar "Hymn to Red October" by Basil Poledouris. The action really gets going with "Ski Mask Vigilante" and - not to turn this review into a focus on gender - Shirley Walker shows she can write big orchestral action scores as well as or better than the big boys who usually get the jobs. What we have here is a Batman feature film score, just like those other better-known ones. It has the same flavor as the others and is well worth a look for Batman fans or just fans of brassy action scoring in general. Recommended. | |
